
Is therapy right for me?
Seeking therapy is an individual choice and it can be difficult to ask for help. People seek therapy for a variety of reasons; each is as inherently unique as the person looking for help. Often someone is struggling with depression or anxiety, or an inability to cope with a major life event or that individual may be having difficulty in a relationship. There are others who seek the advice of a therapist as they pursue personal exploration and growth. Do I really need therapy? I can usually handle my problems.

Is medication a substitute for therapy?
Current research indicates that the long-term solution to mental and emotional problems and the pain they cause cannot be solved solely by medication. Instead of just treating the symptom, therapy addresses the cause of our distress and the behavior patterns that inhibit our progress.
In some cases a combination of medication and therapy is the right course of action. Working with your medical doctor or psychiatrist you can determine what's best for you.
